Breathing Services

Services assist you in identifying and learning about your breathing habits, as well as learning breathing behaviors consistent with good respiration. Learning sessions are based on principles of behavioral assessment, behavioral modification, biofeedback, cognitive learning, phenomenological exploration, and awareness training.  Services are based on textbook physiology and psychology and the use of biological learning instrumentation with customized one-on-one  tutoring within the context of your home or work, and our Institute.  Together with your breathing educator, services are customized to best support your breathing learning goals and their role in health and performance.

Discover how you have learned to breath, how breathing effects you, and how to effectively self-regulate breathing behavior based on learning rather than prescriptive breathing exercises.  Learned breathing habits that are not aligned with good respiration can bring on or cause havoc to natural homeostasis. When learned breathing habits are superimposed on fundamental respiratory reflexes acid-base balance can be disturbed in a matter of seconds. Acid base changes can have a major impact on physiology and psychology throughout the body for better or worse. Effects can be experienced as symptoms and or deficits that can be mistakenly attributed to other causes, or are passed off as "unexplained symptoms" and often treated with psychiatric drugs, body adjustments, or just don't get addressed.   As a consequence, breathing habits and their effects may be perpetuated if they are not identified, unlearned, and replaced with habits that are aligned with good respiration.  For those who experience symptoms or deficits chemistry changes brought on by good breathing habits can reduce or mediate these considerations in profound and practical ways.

For those who value benefits that can come from regulating body chemistry on the fly, breathing behaviors and their effects can occur quickly, have lasting effects and profoundly influence physiology and psychology.  Did you know that breathing regulates oxygen allocation, blood flow, electrolyte balance, kidney function and many chemistry considerations?  Chemistry changes as a result of breathing habits have an immediate and profound effect on health and performance, such as muscle and cell function, powerfully affecting cognitive, emotional, and physical health and performance.  These considerations make breathing the "go to" for optimizing well being anywhere at any time such as during test taking, fitness, daily activities, and communicating.

The analysis of figuring out how, and when breathing habits effect health, and what to do about it can be confusing to sort through.  The consequences of insufficient oxygen allocation as a result of compromising breathing habits can be profound and points to just how compromising poor breathing habits can be.  Trying to find out more about compromising breathing habits and making habit changes isn’t always easy.  There is so much information out there and it can be confusing to sort through contradictory recommendations.  This is where Behavioral Physiology comes in, we can help you sort through confusion about breathing, identify compromised breathing habits, and come up with a personalized learning plan that will support breathing aligned with good respiration and related physiology.

Services solutions offer:

(1) Customized breathing behavior assessment

(4) When breathing plays a role in compromises or where you can optimize your oxygen allocation such as: enhance performance, improve health, optimize cognitive function, emotional resilience, and support embracing rather than defending lifestyles.

(6) Home learning support

Learning objectives are accomplished through implementing basic principles of behavioral analysis, behavior modification, cognitive learning, biofeedback, phenomenological exploration, and awareness skills in the context of self-discovery and self-regulation learning and technology.  Services are about facilitating you’re learning from within your life, together with the support of your breathing educator, and technology to measure breathing chemistry and habits. Breathing offerings are as follows:
