Breathing Habit Assessment
identifies:
(1) whether or not you have a breathing habit compromising you
(2) specific breathing habits that compromise your respiration and related physiology
(3) symptoms and deficits brought on by breathing habits
(4) how existing health conditions may interact with the physiological and psychological effects of habits
(5) if you experience compromises that may be brought on by breathing habits unknowingly
During a Breathing Assessment specific breathing patterns, habits, physiological and psychological changes mediated by breathing are identified as well as their role in your concerns. Discover how you have learned to breathe and how breathing chemistry changes effect you.
Instrumentation collects data specific to your breathing habits measuring gas exchange during breathing. Breathing habits and chemistry changes identified during an assessment are analyzed to understand specifically how habits interact and contribute to symptoms and deficits such as cognitive, emotional, and physical compromises. Information about acid base regulation as it pertains to breathing education, your objectives, data findings, and concerns are discussed.
An assessment requires an instrument called a CapnoTrainer. For people who are out of state and do not own a CapnoTrainer, we provide rental services. A 10 day instrument rental will cover shipping time to and from your location to complete the Breathing Habit Assessment.
An extensive interview provides information about triggers, and sustaining factors that play a role in perpetuating your current health and performance concerns.
For candidates who are likely to benefit from learning services, customized breathing tutorial sessions and a learning package option are available and tailored to support breathing learning objectives while assisting you in unlearning breathing habits that compromise. A Breathing Assessment is a prerequisite for learning services. Learning sessions provide the opportunity for you to partner with your physiology as you receive customized one-one-one learning with your breathing educator. As long as you have high speed Internet and the instrument rental the Breathing Assessment becomes available to you.
The Breathing Assessment duration is 60-75 minute increments (prorated). Time zone is mountain.
The 10 day instrument rental is required for a Breathing Assessment (unless you already have the instrument or are local in Santa Fe, New Mexico).
You will need to supply your own computer (with 2 USB port(s), headset, and high speed Internet assess. Instrumentation requires Windows platform.
Muscle Biofeedback
_____
Identify muscle habits and patterns with the objective of optimizing muscle function and related physiology. Learn what you can do to decrease compromises brought on by maladaptive muscle habits.
Orofacial Myology
_____
Neuromuscular re-education of oral and facial muscles support healthy muscle and structural behaviors essential for proper facial growth, breathing, dental development, speech development, and airway function.
Breathing Instrumentation
_____
We utilize CO2 gas analysis to measures gas exchange during breathing. Instrumentation displays moment to moment changes for determining acid base regulation, and breathing behaviors. The use of CO2 analysis is the only effective technological measurement to determine breathing self-regulation.
